Barns and boathouses can enhance painting compositions and add a narrative element to draw the viewer in to the story of a painting.聽 Incorporating barns, boathouses and other rustic buildings brings a human element to the story, creates scale and contrast, and becomes a pleasing focal point of the scene.聽 In this class we will help students to develop buildings in proper perspective and scale within a scene without overfocusing on detail.聽聽
Weather permitting, we may do charcoal or pencil sketches outdoors and students may bring their own images as well.聽 We will complete paintings in the studio.
There will be instructor demos in oil, watercolor and individual instruction.聽
All levels of students welcome painting in any medium.
It is recommended students bring 聽pencil, charcoal and sketch paper or pad for value sketches.
